- Make sure to read the event stickies! You might have a great post, but if you miss the deadline or don't follow the rules, your post might not be considered! The stickies can also give you a better idea of the atmosphere your character would be in during the single post.
- Focus on your single post being in-character. While anyone can make a grand romantic gesture, what is something your character and perhaps only your character would be capable of doing on The Dance of Tulips?
- Your post should be as interactive as possible. Make sure your readers can immerse themselves by making the POV character as involved in your story as possible. Doing things like adding dialogue options, for instance, is a fun way to make them feel included.
- While there's a deadline for posting, making your single post early will give people more time to read your work, and thus may result in more votes.
- Writing quality isn't exactly a criterion for winning, but editing your work can make it easier for readers to understand.
- Have fun! This is an opportunity for your character to get into crazy shenanigans, so make it count!
