    Higini Thorburn Empty Higini Thorburn

Post by Lilac Sat Jul 14, 2018 2:32 am

    Name: Higini Thorburn
    Gender: Male
    Age: 18
    Race: Human

Physical Description: With an average size of 5'6", Higini has an average build, with his body and limbs being slightly wide, but not wide enough to be considered pudgy. He has a scruffy and short, dark brown-colored haircut, and usually wears typical villager clothing, consisting of a sleeveless tunic with a white shirt underneath, black pants and brown shoes. Sometimes one would notice a few ink stains on his shirt's right sleeve, mainly due to either him not noticing, or him not having spare clothing to use. 'Handsome' may not be the right word to properly describe Higini, as one would see his face and would rather use 'cute' instead, something he doesn't have strong feelings about, except when he gets angry. He can't portray anger properly.

    Role: Aspiring dramatist, blacksmith trainee

Background: Sofronio Thorburn was a bard that used to travel from bar to bar, charming people through lute play and his voice. One day, his trips lead him to Aldmerrow, where he met a recently migrated Enkidu, Dai Erizawa. What began as a fling eventually turned into a relationship, and eventually Higini was conceived. Due to wanting to start a new life with their soon-to-be-born child, Sofronio and Dai moved to the (perceived) more peaceful Eisleyn, where they found the small village of Casimir thanks to tavern rumors.

Sofronio became one of the town's main attraction with his bard skills, while Dai became head of the marketplace. And eventually, Higini would be born, his characteristic matching those of a human, rather than his mom's bear-enkidu genes. He spent his childhood looking up to his father's artistic skills, and seeking to do something similar, which lead to him pursuing the creative endeavor that is drawing, all the while spending time with Kassandra Yoxall, the only other kid in the village.

The years would pass, and eventually his dreams would shift into something bigger: Theater. Something that felt like a pipedream due to how limited he felt living in Casimir, but as it would turn out, his parents eventually shared the same entiment, and when he was 16, they eventually packed things and left towards civilization, moving towards the more populated Ladimen, where Sofronio continued entertaining the local drunks, Dai opened up a market for misc. stuff, and Higini, thanks to his mother's 'suggestion', became the apprentice of a local blacksmith, so that he could have more 'practical skills'. He didn't agree completely, but it made sense.

For a couple of years, his life would be mostly uneventful. There were days in which he missed the tranquility of Casimir, and the company of Kassandra, as at one point during his childhood, he eventually grew feelings for her, feelings that weren't properly addressed due to his fear of bringing them to light. During those two years, every now and then she'd come around and visit him, talking about current events and their lives, and because Kassandra was still aiming to remain in Casimir and help it develop, he felt the tension may never be resolved.

But one day, when he was alone, he heard a knock coming from the front door. To his surprise, he was greeted by a battered and bloodied Kassandra, who collapsed only moments after he opened the door. He treated her injuries and asked her what happened to her, which led him to learn about her situation and Casimir's destruction, as well as how she was now the contractee of an Incantus. Needless to say, Higini was worried and terrified of the creature, something with increased after she and it had a quarrel in front of him about how she would deal with the Incantus. The resulting argument made Kassandra bow to travel across Esterelf to find a way to deal with Trebax and make sure he doesn't come back to kill Higini, despite his protests for her to not do it.

Due to her resolve always being absolute, Higini was unable to convince her to not do it, and instead, offered his house as a shelter whenever she needs it (despite not asking his parents about it), and a pendant he was meaning to give to her for her next birthday. Once she thanked him for the thought, Kassandra left Ladimen, leaving behind a worried Higini, who had no choice but to continue with his life, as he wondered what sort of adventures she was having around the continent.

Personality: Pacific and kindhearted, Higini is a timid person, often trying to not cause problems and solving them through non-violent ways. One would assume that he is down to earth, and that may be true at times, as he tries to think straight whenever he has to deal with complicated situations. But if left unchecked, he tends to dream, becoming more idealistic in his endeavors and imaginative in his pursuits, something which may lead him to get carried away with his ideas. He definitely doesn't have the most solid spine, and is easily scared by a lot of things, both minuscule and honestly terrifying, but if someone is in danger, he'll swallow his fears and try to give them a hand, even if doing so will land him in a detrimental position. All in all, he's well-meaning, but gullible overall.

Weapons/Skills: He's definitely not a fighter, and always tries to resolve his issues peacefully, hence him lacking combat skills beyong flaying. a melee weapon gracelessly. All he really can do is draw pictures and make easy-to-create armor pieces.

    Incantus: None
