    Name: Brunhilde Outerbridge
    Gender: Female
    Age: 16

    Race: Walpurgris
    Citizenship: Saoirsian

    Occupation: Noble

Appearance: Slim and slight in build with a height of five feet, two inches. Her skin is fair and is generously peppered with fine freckles. Her hair is distinctly dark red, straight and shoulder length. Her eyes are large, expressive and pale blue. Her face is narrow, but her features would be called plain. The impression of an unassuming mundane nature in her looks is further enforced by being somewhat underdeveloped for her age.

In terms of clothing, she keeps her hair braided as much as possible and Brunhidle actively resists excessive ornamentation, and is only loathe to do so when a social gathering or other situation where her appearance would reflect poorly upon her adopted parents. Were she to have her own way, she'd dress with only modesty and comfort in mind: Simple, full length dresses of light and airy fabric and in simple, solid bright colors.

Personality: She appears to be cheerful and outgoing, well read and witty, bubbly and chatty but with a strong sense of discreteness. In short, she seems to be the very picture of an ideal young lady. She seems quick to laugh and never seems to speak a harsh word to or about anyone. But beyond her sweet disposition, there is something more.

Brunhilde is always on edge, and is keenly aware of her current situation and how precarious it truly is. She has no intention of doing anything that would bring down problems for her, and especially for those of her adopted parents. Outside of the public eye, she sheds her vibrant persona and is far more somber, quiet and careful. She keeps a cautious distance from everyone. The only real exception to this is her adopted mother, Evelyn. She is the one person whom she seems to drop her guard around.

An additional cause of stress is that she always holds herself to the standards of Evelyn. In almost all respects she falls short. It pushes her to strive ever further despite her shortcomings, but she is never truly satisfied.

Her own long term goals are relatively simple. She wants to feel as though she deserves the warmth and kindness her adopted family has shown her, and she needs to remain out of Expiate's attention. She holds no particular kinship towards any other Walpurgris, nor any feelings of resentment towards anyone, but keeping what she has and not losing any more is her main priority.

History: Brunhilde spent the entirety of her childhood in a haven hidden in Soarise. All that happened there, was considered normal for her, be it fantastic or mundane. She made friends, was educated and had an upbringing she would consider 'normal' despite it all being under hiding. But when she was about ten, that came to an end. The Expiate discovered the haven. Flight was the only real option. Her parents and she scattered with others and took their chances in the wilds.

They didn't get terribly far, the corrupted beasts saw to that. Within days of the raid, Brunhilde was left alone wandering the wilderness injured and starved. She was apparently safe from capture, but not from the elements, or hunger or thirst or predators.

The girl was found collapsed at the side of a road that was chanced upon by a carriage transporting the Outbriges who happened to be returning home that way from a long trip. They took her along, and their servants took care of her.

Days after this chance encounter on the road, Brunhilde awoke to find herself in a strange home, and surrounded by people she didn't know.

Her past experiences and everything she had been taught about the world outside of the haven told her she needed to be extremely wary, and so she was. She only offered her name and avoided answering any questions as to how she wound up where they found her or where she was before.

Despite how little she was willing to let go about herself, one thing remained clear: Young Brunhilde had no where else to go. The decision to have her stay with them was Evelyn's idea.

For a time, the girl did little more than her best to fit in and not cause trouble. As guarded and cautious as ever, she did as she was told, took pains to give no headaches to her minders. She didn't dare use any magic for fear of the consequences.

One day, a year since she came to live on the Outerbridge estate, her vigilance lapsed. In a garden there was a flower she knew Evelyn to have a fondness for but it was starting to wilt. Brunhilde used her magic to rejuvenate it when she thought she was alone.

    She wasn't.

Evelyn had witnessed the act, by accident or design. First she denied the incident and returned to her room at once. She hastily gathered what she thought she'd need and sought to leave, lest she be delivered to her pursers.

Evelyn was waiting for her as she prepared to climb out the window. She told her it didn't matter to her that she was a Walpugis. That she was always welcome there.

The message wasn't gotten at first. The girl first thought she was simply trapped, and spent her days and nights expecting the Expiate to take her away at any moment. But they never came, and all seemed to return to normal.

In time, Brunhilde was formally taken into the family. All the while she grew ever closer to her new mother in the mean time.

    Weapon:
She was trained to use the sword by her adopted mother. She has no real talent for it, but is at least proficient enough in the basics.

    Skills:
    • Swordfighting (Novice): Despite expert tutelage, she has neither the physique nor the disposition to be a formidable fencer.
    • Horseback Riding (Beginner): She can stay in saddle.
    • Survival (Intermediate): She takes being able to live off the land and avoid getting lost in the wilderness quite seriously in case the worst happens.
    • Plant Mastery (Intermediate): Her area of expertise in Cantic magic is tied to plants of all sorts. Minor feats like tending to a wilted mundane plant or even reviving a severely mistreated (but not dead) plant are trivial for her.
      • Restless Roots and Grasping Vines: This spell causes roots vines and branches from nearby trees to spring into motion. They can merely restrain or attempt to inflict serious damage though clubbing or constriction at her leisure.
      • Elder Oak Memory: With this spell, she discern information about any person that interacted with a particular plan within the past month. If a man with a red hat took a nap under its branches she would get a good impression of what he looked like. If a corrupted beast knocked it over, she would have a intuition of what kind.
      • Greensight: By focusing on any plant larger than a sapling that she is aware of, she can remotely perceive everything happening around it as though she were standing where.
      • Forced Growth: She can cause plants to grow to gigantic proportions or grow from a seed to full maturity in a matter of minutes.
      • Golden Sap Sacrifice: This spell causes a plan to produce a potent healing elixir in a form appropriate for its type (nectar from a flower, sap from a maple, fruit from a fruit tree, etc) The exact form of the elixirs are seldom the same. The elixirs are always a shining gold in color and will heal injuries of those that consume them. The potency of this healing is directly proprotional of the size and age of the plant used. Upon casting this spell on a plant, it dies immedately after the elixir is harvested. If not harvested and/or applied within an hour, the elixir spoils and the plant has died for naught.

Strengths/Weaknesses: In combat, Brunhilde is more liability than asset. Her ability to protect herself in a direct confrontation is dubious at best and she devotes a lot of effort into avoiding just that situation. Her inability to truly trust most others means she's unlikely to even use her Cantus abilities even in a life or death situation if it risks her exposure.

Even if used her magic to the fullest extent, the utility in direct confrontation is limited and dependent on the nearby plant life. Her main strengths lie in avoiding unnecessary combat to begin with, and with it the risk of harm.

    Allusion: None
