Best Served Cold

The cart creaked loudly under Hitomi as they rolled to a stop. It hadn't been too long, but her eyes already felt heavy. After the last mission, she needed something she was good at. Exterminating bandits? Sounded like an easy task. Unfortunately, things were never so simple. The bandits in question were extremely hard to find, so a plan was put forward.

Why not lure the bandits to them?

So, here she was, waiting in a cart for the driver to pick up any other mercs interested in the gig. In her eyes, she and Tala were enough...Hell Hitomi could probably do this herself. She sighed, shifting uncomfortably as she tried to relax. There wasn't a ton of room really, if too many people joined in, they would end up piled on top of each other...These bandits better show en route.

Well either way, they were getting paid for this at least.

"So how long do you think before they get here?"

The excited whisper came from behind Hitomi inside the card.

Tala was covering herself with her red hood, her face wide with a grin. It was nice that she and Hitomi could do something simple after their last quest. She understood Hitomi could also use the morale, so she obliged in taking the quest the Enkidu wanted.

Besides, when was it ever not fun to beat the crap out of bandits?

Whatever the case, Tala was ready. She just needed Hitomi's signal, and hopefully for Fey to stay quiet.

Hitomi glanced back, her sour expression hidden behind her mask. She reached out despite the cramped quarters, pressing her finger on Tala's palm and writing a quick question. 'The bandits or other hunters?' She paused a moment, then shook her head.

'Chances are we're gonna be the only ones doing this.'

"Pssst, tala repeat everything she's writing, I can't understa-mrph!" A whisper was suddenly muffled as Hitomi crossed her arms. She understood the need for secrecy, but why did the little thing had to reside IN HER CLOTHES? She huffed, quickly writing out another message.

'Why are we bringing her along everywhere again? The most she does is making lewd comments and drinking.' She sighed lightly. She wished she could shake this sour mood of hers. Ever since the last mission she's just...

Well, she could use a win here.
