A Happy? Accident - Page 2 Empty Re: A Happy? Accident

Honestly, Hitomi was impressed with how quickly the others got up and resolved to fight. Even in fight or flight situations, she'd seen many people hesitate. While she was covered in snow and bleeding a little, she couldn't let them take this thing on alone. She shook the snow off, grabbed an arm with her other and pulled. With an audible click followed by the sound of a sword unsheathing, Hitomi's prosthetic blade was free. She left her other arm on, just in case, and prepped for a tough fight.

The Tinder Wolf looked at the woman with the scythe harshly. For one long moment it squared off with her. The look in it's eyes was the one of an experienced hunter. This wasn't the first combatant it would kill, and it certainly wouldn't be the last. Rather than approaching, it opened it's three mouths. There was a spark and blast of fire followed. It seemed to use the thin space of the corridor to it's advantage here.

In the meantime, Hitomi had already run by the woman. As the fire ball came, she slid into the snow, pulling her body back as the fireball went over her. She felt the heat singe her body and melt the snow and ice around her, yet she continued. She sprung into the air once more once she was clear and slashed at the wolf. A large gash appeared across it's face and it howled in fury.

In response the wolf swiped at her heavily with it's claws. While Hitomi rose her blade to defend herself, the force of the attack alone sent her flying across the entrance, tumbling heavily in the melted snow. Still, she pushed the pain aside and rolled into a crouch, ready for whatever else it threw at her.

It was hard to tell what the woman was thinking behind her mirrored lens, but her stance suggested she was ready for serious business. She was about to charge forward, but her attention soon came to Ylva. Hearing Ylva refuse to leave, the woman gave her a soft smile.

"How sweet. It's so nice when young ones try to help their eld---"

It wasn't long before Hitomi had gone forward to charge at the wolf, leaving the fireball heading towards her and Ylva. Almost instantly, the woman' would stretch out her free arm and left foot so that she was standing in a line and then made an upward motion with two of her fingers. Simultaneously, a pillar of rock would spring forth from the ground in a slope in attempt to block the fireball.

"Aim for its eyes!" she directed to Ylva as she dashed forward and up the slope. She'd jump off the slope to see Hitomi getting hit and flying across the cave. The woman's grip on her scythe tightened and Hitomi and Ylva would notice her scythe glow before the woman started descending in a sideway spiral with the outward curve of the blade aiming to hit the back of the Tinder Wolf's neck as she landed next to it.

Ylva quickly darted behind the stone pillar and aimed her bow at the creature.

"I understand." She replied to the order.

She noticed the woman's scythe glow and her amazing acrobatics in her attempts to fight the creature, but she couldn't sit there and gawk at her. Ylva had to fight.

She aimed at the middle head's left eye and show an arrow. It was a precise shot, and not one she was sure she could make, but she was just going to have to keep trying.

Eir fluttered a bit against Ylva's chest and she sighed. She didn't want to use her magic in front of others, in case that they weren't friendly to contracted Walpurgis.

Ylva grabbed another arrow and awaited her next opening to shoot.

The older woman was quick and the wolf was briefly off guard. The scythe began to dig deeply into it's neck. It acted quickly on instinct alone and leaped back, sending smaller fireball her way to cover its momentary retreat. What surprised it, was the arrow suddenly piercing its eye.

It let out a horrifyingly loud howl and the rest of its eyes focused on Ylva herself. It lowered itself slightly before springing forward. Suddenly, the monster curled itself into a ball. Flame covered it as it made its way down the corridor towards Ylva herself.

Hitomi managed to dive out of the way before being flattened, Her sword stuck out and slashed at it. She felt it cut deep, but the wolf kept moving on, seemingly aiming towards Ylva alone.

As the fireball aimed at the hooded woman, she barely registered its arrival and took the brunt of the attack, only raising up the tattered red cloak of hers as her only protection. She would grunt and her arm would singe, but that didn't stop her from moving forward.

Ylva's shot turned true and smacked it right in the eye, and as it tried to bolt, the fire wolf would receive a stab from Hitomi. It would keep running towards Ylva, however, and using Cartic marks to boost her and send her flying, the woman would once again leap in the air towards it, hoping to hook its neck with her scythe and cut deeper into it and even clean off if it was weak enough.

Ylva's eyes widened as the Tinder Wolf began charging at her, covered in flames.

She watched as the other two tried to stop its attack, but it just kept coming. Ylva didn't have time to think. Her warding skills weren't strong enough to protect against that attack, and besides, if she used Cantus magic in front of these two strangers, who would know how they would react.

Ylva just aimed her arrow at the ball of flames and fired, hoping to strike a weak spot, if she was lucky. She then jumped to the side in hopes of at least dodging the brunt of the attack.

In a stroke of luck, Ylva's arrow struck true. There was a splash of blood as the wolf suddenly tumbled and spun across the ground. The arrow has pierced through the front of its muzzle and pinned its mouth shut. There was a loud rumble as it began to pick itself up, turning towards the now prone Ylva. It's eyes flashed for a moment, but before it could attack the girl, the older woman's scythe wrapped around its neck suddenly and cut deeply. There was a splash of blood and the wolf froze for a moment.

Hitomi, who had been sprinting after the two, slid to a sudden stop as she saw the wolf's head suddenly separate from its body. Just like that the danger was finished. She expected for it to take much longer, hell the wolf didn't even get to separate. She was kind of looking forward to seeing that...

She let out a melancholy sigh and walked forwards, retrieving her prosthetic arm and gently placing it back over her exposed blade. There was an audible click as it set. As usual she flexed and stretched the arm to make sure it was all in working order. With that finished, she moved over to the two and would openly point at any injuries they had, then gesture for them to follow her to her backpack deeper in the cave.

Feeling her blade cut into the wolf and blood splatter on her, the woman straightened up, allowing her scythe to swing with the gravity as she placed it on her back once more. She was breathing a little heavily, but as she turned around to the two children, she smiled brightly.

"Wonderful work, children!" she said. "Also, no worries. Just a little burned is all!"

The woman would raise up the singed part of her blouse and a bit of burning on her skin. She didn't seem to really register the pain or was just really good at ignoring it, regardless, she drew out a few healing marks to start healing it.

"How about you all? Are you hurt? I can heal you, though my healing takes a little longer than most."

Ylva sighed in relief. It was over, they had won and no one died. That was always a win in her book. Though, it was a tough fight. She wondered what would have happened if she had been alone here.

She looked at the woman and shook her head. J-Just a few scrapes...Nothing to worry about..."

If she needed to treat anything she probably had some salves in her bag somewhere. Might as well use them before they spoil. Though, they had a pretty long time until that happened.

As she followed the other two, she knelt down at the wolf's corpse and placed a hand on the cold, dead, carcass.

"Forgive me..." She said softly. "May you find peace..."
